PURPOSE:To provide a collecting and draining material which is excellent in resistance to compression and pliability, by a method wherein a number of thermoplastic resin fiber filaments, aligned in parallel, are densely entangled at proper intervals, the fiber filaments are integrally welded at a part, where they make contact with each other, to form a laminar part, and this constitutes a fiber filament aggregate. CONSTITUTION:Molten thermoplastic resin is extruded throuh a number of nozzles formed in a die 5, such strandlike fiber filaments 6 are immersed in water, and are intermittently taken off by endless belts 7 located on both sides which are intermittently moved. When take-off operation, made by means of the belts 7, is stopped, the strand-like fiber filament in a molten condition are lain one on another in a curved condition on a water surface 8, and welding is conducted at each contact part to form a laminar part 2. When taking-off action is performed by the belts 7, the laminar part 2 is cooled, and the strand-like fiber filaments 6 being continuous to the laminar part are also cooled and cured to form a fiber filament part 3. |
