The invention relates to a device for cooking in a repetitive and predetermined manner soft and/or hard boiled eggs. It consists of a container 1 containing water which can be brought to the boil, into which a movable basket 2, making it possible to place the eggs into cells 3, is immersed by means of the casing 4. The casing 4 comprises a locking device with a timer keeping, for a predetermined length of time, the movable basket in the immersed position. After cooking, the timer causes unlocking and the movable basket automatically rises by virtue of the volume of air 5 contained in the latter.
