Device for comminuting and for screening out granules of a specific granule size in which a composition which possibly contains a lubricant and consists of pulverised ceramic raw materials treated with binders, in particular ferrite raw materials, is forced by means of tools (4) through a screen (2) or through a series of screens connected one after the other and having a mesh size reducing in their sequence, the screen (2) or the last screen of the series of screens possessing a mesh size corresponding to the desired minimum granule size. The tool (4) provided is a brush (7) which oscillates along an arc of a circle whose radius of curvature RB is smaller than the radius of curvature RS of the curved screen surface, adjacent thereto, of the screen 2, the brush as far as possible contacting the screen surface at least in the region of the centre of the arc of the circle. <IMAGE>
