In a device for detecting vehicle traffic by means of magnetic-field detectors which measure a change in a magnetic field caused by a vehicle and with evaluating circuits for evaluating the output signals of the magnetic-field detectors for determining the presence and/or the movement of a vehicle, the magnetic-field detectors are formed by magnetoresistive sensors which measure disturbances of a predetermined magnetic field by a vehicle.
