<p>PURPOSE:To provide a variable displacement type turbocharger which is small and has the low driving force of an exhaust gas flow switching valve, by a method wherein an exhaust flow passage switching valve is contained at the interior of the turbine inlet, and opened in the flow direction of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Under a state in which an exhaust flow passage switching valve 38 is closed, exhaust gas is introduced to a first secroll chamber 24 of turbine case 16 after flowing through an exhaust gas outgoing passage 12, a first opening 44 of a first opening 40, and a first exhaust gas introduction passage 30. With the exhaust flow passage switching valve 38 opened, exhaust gas is introduced to a second scroll chamber 26 of the turbine case 16 through a second opening 46 of a valve body 40 and a second exhaust gas incoming passage 32. The exhaust flow passage switching valve 38 is disposed in the second exhaust gas incoming passage 32 of a turbine case 20, and is designed to open in the flow direction of exhaust gas.</p> |
