PURPOSE:To obtain the titled dispersion both nontoxic and nonflammable with high dispersion stability and good adhesivity, suitable for liquid developer for use in electrophotography, etc., by polymerization, in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, between a vinylsilyl isocyanate and two kinds of each specific monomer. CONSTITUTION:The objective dispersion can be obtained by polymerization, in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent such as n-hexane, in the presence of a polymerization initiator such as dicumyl peroxide, between (A) a monomer of formula I [R<1> is H or methyl; X<1> is -COOCnH2n+1, or -OCOCnH2n+1 (n is integer 6-20)] (e.g., lauryl methacrylate), (B) a vinylsilyl isocyanate of formula II [R<2> is R<1>; X<2> is -CnH2n+1 (n is integer 1-20); m is 1, 2 or 3; l is 0.1 or 2] (e.g., a compound of formula III), and (C) a second monomer having functional group reactive with NCO group (e.g., acryl acid). The amounts of the components to be used are pref. such as to be 0.01-1 per unit of the component A in the weight ratios for the components B and C, respectively. |
