<p>PURPOSE:To restrain the increase of fog due to the increase of an amount of dye to be added by spectrally sensitizing silver halide grains contained in at least one of silver halide emulsion layers with a combination of specified sensitizing dyes. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide grains contained in at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers formed on a support are spectrally sensitized by using a combination of each one or more of sensitizing dyes represented by formulae I and II, thus permitting sensitivity in the green light region to be enhanced while restraining the occurrence of fog. In the formulae I and II, each of R1-R4 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, sulfoalkyl, or the like; each of Z1-Z8 is H, halogen, hydroxy, alkoxy, or the like; each couple of Z1 and Z2, Z3 and Z4, Z5 and Z6 and Z7 and Z8 may form a ring; X1<->, X2<-> are each an anion; and (m), (n) are each 1 or 2.</p> |
