The transverse rolling method is for reducing seamless tubular billets, using a mandrel bar retained at the inlet end. To vary the billet wall thickness, a bar (3) of variable external diameter is used, sliding in the axial direction as the rolling is carried out. Radially-adjustable rollers (1) can also be used and the bar can be slid steadily forward. |
