PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having sufficient developed color density and color forming sensitivity and high brightness and fulfilling other requirements, by preparing a specified coating liquid, applying it to a base and drying it. CONSTITUTION:One part of an electron-donative colorless dye and 0.05-20 parts, preferably, 1-10 parts of a heat-fusible substance of formula 1, wherein Ar is subst. or unsubst. aryl, and Y is subst. or unsubst. alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, acyl, alkylsulfonyl or arylsulfonyl, are ground and dispersed in a dispersant to a particle diameter of not more than 10mum, preferably, not more than 3mum to prepare the first dispersed liquid. Separately, 1 part of an electron-acceptive compound and 0.05-20 parts, preferably, 1-10 parts of a heat-fusible substance, which may be the same as or different from the heat-fusible substance used above are gound and dispersed in a dispersant to a particle diameter of not more than 10mum, preferably, not mor than 3 mum to prepare the second dispersed liquid. The two dispersed liquids are mixed with each other so that the weight ratio of the amount of the dye to the amount of the electron-acceptive compound is 1:10-1:1, preferably, 1:5-2:3. |
