PURPOSE:To enable curved excavation and automatic direction control with highly accurate detections of position and posture of an excavating machine, by installing 2 pairs, fore and aft, of magnetic field detectors in symmetry on both side-walls of an excavating machine and lead wires along an excavation guide line on the ground respectively. CONSTITUTION:Two pairs, for and aft, of magnetic field detectors 11 are arranged symmetric on both side-walls of an excavating machine 1 and lead wires 12 is installed on the ground along the both sides of an excavation guide line T with equal distances W. The magnetic field enerated by the line 12 is detected by the detector 11 and its signal is introduced into a signal-processing unit for obtaining 2 position deviations delta relative to the guide line T. By the arrangement of the deviation signals highly accurate and continuous detection of horizontal position and posture of the excavating machine is made for easy curved excavation and automatic direction control. |
