NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is group of formula II; all the amino acids are L-isomers). USE:Agent for estimating the potency of a substance having gastrin-like activity and a substance having antigastrin-like activity. The affinity of a specimen to gastrin receptor can be determined safely in this sensitivity by the biotin- avidin method taking advantage of the affinity of biotin to enzyme-labeled avidin or enzyme-labeled streptoavidin. A large amount of specimens can be easily determined by this process. PREPARATION:Gastrin-16 of formula III is condensed with biotin.
