A threading-in device (1) (Figure 1) consists essentially of a baseplate (7) with a groove-like depression (8) located in the latter. A needle (3) can be placed into this depression laterally up against a stop edge (9). The groove bottom forms a needle rest (10) which is set back relative to an adjacent guide plane (4) to such an extent that the guide plane is approximately in line with the lower edge of the needle-eye orifice. A thread (6) or a threading-in loop (16) can thereby be pushed through the needle-eye orifice in a manner guided on the guide plane (4). This makes threading-in substantially simpler. <IMAGE>
