A device for cutting out a circular disc of the central part of the cornea (19) of the human eye for transplant purposes is designed for the purpose of improved handling such that a suction cup (17) is fitted on a fixable holder, the support surface of this suction cup provided with the mouths of suction channels (20) is approximated to the outer superficial shape of the cornea (19), and that a tubular knife (4) which can be rotated about its central axis and surrounds the suction cup (17) is arranged so as to be movable in the axial direction. The suction cup is preferably subdivided by an annular gap into an inner part and an annular part (15) surrounding the latter and the suction channels (20) of which can be switched off independently. The two suction cup parts are expediently separable from the holder individually. In order to facilitate centring there may be provided an optical system which generates a light ray (28) emerging through the central suction channel (27). <IMAGE> |
