Drinking water preservative which is composed of coral sand which is plated with about 0.001 to 5% by weight of silver. The coral sand is preferably plated with the aid of an atomization process. The preservative composed of silver-plated coral sand has a high sterilization activity against bacteria in water and can not only maintain the water quality over a long period but even improve it. It can, moreover, impart a slightly alkaline pH to the water and mineralize it. |
