The active component of the catalyst is of the general formula WaVbEcOd in which E is at least one element from the group comprising Bi, Ce, Cr, Sn, Zr and Mn, whose valence state does not exceed 4, with a ratio of a : b : c = (0.1-15) : 1 : (0.1-25). The catalyst can be prepared by intimately mixing the metal oxides and/or starting compounds which can be converted into the latter, the starting compounds being used in the solid form or in the dissolved state. |
