PURPOSE:To enhance the dispersibility of inorg. particles such as carbon black, by preparing a surfactant from polyoxyalkylene (alkylamide substituted) alkyl ether sulfate. CONSTITUTION:Nitrile is reacted with alcohol having a C-C double bond or alcohol ethoxylate along with conc. sulfuric acid to obtain a surfactant represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are a 1-22C hydrocarbon group and the sum total of the number of carbons of R1 and R2 is 7-31. R3 and X are a 1-4C hydrocarbon group, n is an integer of 0-40 and M is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, amine or ammonium). As an embodiment of the surfactant represented by the formula, there is 10-(N-acetylamino) stearyl sodium sulfate. |
