Refractory wear resistant pouring and immersion nozzles are claimed consisting of a base material and a layer lining the channel for passage of a flow of Al-billed steel poured at slightly above the liquidus temp., wherein a layer of finely grained porous quarty material is directly attached to the base body. The layer of quarty is 2-20 (3-7) mm thick and contains grains of up to 0.5 mm. The nozzles are mfd. by blocking the passage channel from one side, casting slurry of quarty material into the hollow region so obtd. and after formation of a contact layer, removing the excess slurry, drying and firing the base body of the nozzle with the layer on the surface.
