An insulating-gas switching device has at least two electrical devices (2-13) which must be positioned precisely relative to one another on at least two mounting surfaces (15a, 17a) of a housing (1). The mounting surfaces are positioned such that they permit access from the outside of the housing (1) for machining the mounting surfaces to the required accuracy. One of the mounting surfaces (15a, 17a) can be selected as a reference surface, while the other mounting surface can be machined to a desired accuracy with respect to the selected reference surface. <IMAGE>
