<p>Appts. continuously extracts dissolved or suspended impurities from a fluid, using an extn. fluid not miscible with it. It has a passage with inlet and outlet for the first fluid and a mixing zone, while a feed pipe for the extn. fluid leads to the junction between mixing and sepg. zones. The passage also includes a sepg. chamber and a collecting chamber for the extn. fluid which has risen through the column of the first fluid. The collecting chamber is connected to a distiller sepg. the impurities from the extn. fluid, and to which the feed pipe for the extn. fluid to the mixing zone is connected. The mixing zone has a stirrer near the junction between sepn. and mixing chambers. The extn. chamber is at the bottom of the column below the stirrer. Near the wall sepg. the mixing and sepg. zones is a baffle plate in the form of a segment of a circle whose two ends are bent over, one upwards and one downwards, for a max. of 15 deg.</p> |
