A wheel-cap fastening for a bus or like vehicles is proposed. The vehicle wheel has a rim and a rubber-elastic tyre. The rim has an axial centre cutout which is delimited by a centre edge which is coaxial with respect to the wheel axis. In addition, on the rim-well side approximately in the region of the diameter of the wheel cap the rim has a transverse rim flange. In order to precisely centre the wheel cap there is provided, according to a first solution proposal, a holder which is fastened on the rim, is exactly aligned by bearing against the centre edge and has radial struts with bearing parts which are arranged at equal distances with respect to the wheel axis and on which a support surface of the wheel cap is arranged to be coaxially forcibly centred. According to a second solution proposal which is independent therefrom, a precise centring of the wheel cap is achieved in that an outer collar of the wheel cap engages in the spreading angle between tyre and rim flange and with one edge bears directly on the side surface of the tyre, with linear contact.
