PURPOSE:To prevent the effect of the outside world on an optical fiber by forming a thin-walled ribbon wire to a tubular shape by butting both side ends thereof, winding spiral wires consisting of an elastic material here and there to the outside peripheral part of the optical fiber and forming the same as a core part. CONSTITUTION:The material of an outside shell 2 is the kind of a rigid resin, metal, etc. and both side ends 21, 22 are butted to be formed to a tubular shape. The shell 2 is formed by gradually curving both side ends of the straight-angle belt-shaped material by means of working tools such as dies or rolls to form the straight-angle belt to the tubular shape. A gap to allow the presence of the optical fiber 1 is provided in such tubular shape and the spiral wires 3 having elastic power are wound to the outside peripheral of the fiber 1. The slight force exerted to the optical fiber is made freely transmittible to some extent in the shell 2 by the elastic materials 3. The optical fiber which is kept free from unnecessary force as far as possible is thus obtd.
