PURPOSE:To enable a consolidation test simple to handle and testing a large amount of a sample at once, by inserting an object to be inspected between a lower press board and an upper press board and sliding both press boards along the inner surface of a cylinder main body. CONSTITUTION:An object to be inspected is inserted between a lower press board 4 and an upper press board 7 and the press board 7 is clamped by a clamp rod 9. When predetermined load was applied to the object to be inspected, that is, when, the graduations line of a predetermined wt. of a graduations rod 5 is exposed from a lower cap 2, clamping is stopped. Because predetermined load can be applied to the object to be inspected only by rotating the clamp rod 9, operation is extremely simple and a special tool or measuring device becomes unnecessary. Because this apparatus has a small size and the load applied to the object to be inspected does not change even if said apparatus is made vertical or horizontal, the apparatus can be stacked in a multistage fashion, for example, in a thermostatic tank and the consolidation test of a large amount of a sample can be performed at once.
