PURPOSE:To improve durability as well as recording and reproducing performance by arranging a nonmagnetic material on respective joint sides of both oxide and metallic magnetic materials and joining nonmetallic materials together across those magnetic materials, and charging a nonmagnetic material in the oxide magnetic material nearby a front gap before joining. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd nonmagnetic films 16a and 16b provided to the metallic magnetic material 15 by sputtering, etc., e.g. alumina films and the 1st nonmagnetic films 14a and 14b arranged on the oxide magnetic material 11a by sputtering, etc., e.g. glass films are jointed together; and the nonmagnetic material 13 which has a coefficient of heat expansion nearly equal to the oxide magnetic material 11a of the part nearby the front gap 27 like glass is charged in said oxide magnetic material 11a before core half bodies 26a and 26b of a magnetic head 26 are joined together. Consequently, the joining strength between the metallic magnetic material 15 and oxide magnetic material 11a is increased. Thus, the nonmagnetic material 13 having high hardness is charged in the oxide magnetic material 11a nearby the front gap to improve wear resistance and durability, and recording and reproduction are performed excellently because the oxide magnetic material is exposed on the sliding surface for magnetic recording media.
