PURPOSE:To prevent carburization and sulfurization and to improve the casting surface condition by further coating a mold material such as zircon flower onto the surface of an org. self-curable casting mold coated with a mold coating material contg. chromite flower, etc. as a base material. CONSTITUTION:The material prepd. by simultaneously adding the chromite flower and olivine flower or Fe2O3+2CaO.SiO2 or the mixture composed thereof to the base material so as to have the mixing ratio of 20-95% the former and 5-80% the latter is used as the base material for the mold coating material of the 1st or 3rd mold coating layer. 1 and >=2 kinds of the zircon flower, mullite flower, alumina flower, chamotte flower and chromite flower are used as the base material for mold coating of the 2nd mold coating layer. These materials are dispersed by using a volatile org. solvent and the soln. is coated on the mold surface, by which the carburization and sulfurization are prevented and the good casting surface is obtd.
