PURPOSE:To provide a fixed recorded density irrespective of the existing condition of heating elements to be driven to generate heat, by a method wherein before recording is conducted by supplying electric power to predetermined ones of heating elements arranged orderly, preheating electric power is supplied to the heating element which exists singly among the predetermined heating elements. CONSTITUTION:In recording data DATA1 or the like, each of (a) and (g) is 1-bit single data, while (b)-(d) and (e), (f) are 3-bit continuous data and 2-bit continuous data, respectively. Section A corresponds to the time of detecting the 1-bit single data (a), (g), section B corresponds to the time of preheating driving based on the data (a), (g) and the time of outputting recording data for one recording line, and section C corresponds to the time of heating driving based on the recording data for one recording line. The heating elements corresponding to the single data (a), (g) are driven two times to generate heat, whereas the heating elements corresponding to the plural-bit continuous data (b)-(d) and (e), (f) are driven only one time to generate heat. Accordingly, the recording density can be uniformized for all of the heating elements, irrespective of the existing conditions of the heating elements driven to generate heat. |
