PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. which is excellent in flame resistance and exhibits no significant shrinkage in a filled state and no significant generation of a corrosive gas at the time of spread of a fire, by incorporating an aq. emulsion resin, inorg. filler, phosphate ester, inorg. fiber, red phosphorus and water at specific proportions. CONSTITUTION:A putty-like compsn. composed mainly of 8-15wt.% (on a solid basis) aq. emulsion resin, 40-70wt.% inorg. filler, 1-10wt.% phosphate ester, 1-5wt% inorg. fiber, 0.3-3wt.% red phosphorus and 22wt.% or less water. The aq. emulsion resin serves as a binder, and it is preferred that its amount be as small as possible because it is generally combustible. The inorg. filler forms a skeleton of the fireproof compsn. The phosphate ester serves as a medium when components contg. large amts. of powder and fiber are kneaded. It is preferred that red phosphorus be in the form of a finely divided powder the surface of which has been treated with a resin to improve water resistance. Water is required for kneading the compsn.
