PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of the singing function of a videotex without any increase in circuit scale by using a dial tone to confirm a key input and generate a singing. CONSTITUTION:When a down signal from an information center is received with a key input from a keyboard 16, it is modulated by a modem 19, a data processing circuit 18 makes an error check and performs data conversion, and then a terminal control circuit 17 generates display data, which is displayed on a CRT 22. If an error occurs during data processing, an oscillation circuit 13 is driven to generate an alarm sound from a speaker 15. Therefore, a singing function and a dial transmitting function are realized by the small-scale circuit.
