Provided is an inspection method that allows the operating state of bearings and other rotary machine components to be easily inspected by using a portable information terminal such as a smartphone and a dedicated sensor. Further provided is an inspection method that is able to reduce the likelihood of detection data being damaged from communication failures in communication from the portable information terminal to the server and allows processes such as diagnostics to be performed at a level equivalent to an inspection of the full circumference of the rotary machine component. The method employs a general-purpose portable information terminal (2) such as a smartphone and a dedicated sensor (3) to be connected thereto. Detection data detected by the dedicated sensor (3) is transmitted from the portable information terminal (2) to a server (6), and the server (6) processes the data and transmits the processing results to the portable information terminal (2). The portable information terminal (2) displays the sent processing results on a screen (21a). The length of time for one detection with the dedicated sensor (3) is set to be less than the time of one rotation of the rotary machine component (1), and the worker would assess whether there are any anomalies in the rotary machine component (1) on the basis of results of multiple detections and data processing. |
