<p>PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency of packet communication by avoiding the forced disconnection from a network by time supervision in a sending stop request to a packet communication network at the occurrence of a fault of a packet terminal equipment so as to quicken the restart of communication. CONSTITUTION:A frame processing section 14 sends a transmission stop request (RNR) to a network similarly as a conventional system at the occurrence of a fault of a host equipment 3 to stop the frame transmission from the network. A frame processing section 14 starts a timer 17 at the same time in this case. The frame processing section 14 sends the release request (RR) to the network in the processing started by the timer 17 and releases once the transmission stop request. Then the RNR is sent again to request the transmission stop. Further, the timer 17 is started again at the same time as above. In the network, the transmission stop state is released by the RR reception and the transmission stop state is set again by the succeeding RNR reception. Thus, it is equivalent to the packet terminal equipment that the transmission stop state continues.</p> |
