PURPOSE:To facilitate the revision of firmware for facsimile equipments installed decentralizingly by providing a means for receiving the frimware from a central unit and writint it on a ROM. CONSTITUTION:In revising the firmware, after the ROM 8 is replaced into an erased ROM, the operator applies key operation requesting firmware transmission to the central equipment from an operation section 17. The central equipment sends firmware data immediately after the said request is received or sends it with reconnection after the line is disconnected once. The sent firmware data is analyzed by a firmware reception program 14 and stored in a RAM 2. After the end of reception of the firmware data, a write section 15 is started and the firmware data is read sequentially from the RAM 2 and the address is designated in the ROM 8 together with a write control signal. After the coincidence between the data in the RAM 2 and the written data is confirmed, the write is completed and the result is displayed on the operation section 17.
