PURPOSE:To transfer the next signal by other CCD shift register while a signal is transferred by one CCD shift register by composing two sets of CCD shift registers in corresponding structures to a row of photodiode group. CONSTITUTION:Two charge transfer gates G1, G2 and tow output units A1, A2 are provided at one row of photodiode group (D1, D2, D3,..., Dn), two sets of CCD shift registers (R11, R12, R13,..., R1n), (R21, R22, R23,..., R2n) are disposed outside the G1, G2, and clock terminals CLK1, CLK2, CLK3, CLK4. When the gate G1 is turned ON, signal charges are transferred from the photodiodes (D1, D2, D3,..., Dn) to one CCD shift registers (R11, R12, R13,..., R1n), and a signal is obtained from an output terminal 1. Then, when a TG2 waveform is applied to a charge transfer gate G2, another signal is obtained from an output terminal 2.
