The invention relates to a flushing system and a method of controlling feeding of flushing fluid. The flushing system (14) comprises a pump unit (15) for feeding pressurized flushing fluid to a feed duct (16) connected to a rock drilling machine (5). Flow rate of the flushing fluid to be fed is controlled by controlling pumping of the flushing fluid. The flow rate is determined by means of one or more sensing device.
