PURPOSE:To prevent a metal band from breaking, by forming each metal band, which constitutes a stratified band for a V-belt, to a convex-shaped section. CONSTITUTION:A V-belt is constituted of two endless annular stratified bands 10 and many blocks 12 built in these bands. The V-belt fits the stratified bands 10 respectively to grooves 12b in the lateral direction of the blocks 12. A bottom side wall 12c, constituting the lateral direction groove 12b, is formed in a convex shape by crowing work. The stratified band 10 is formed by metal bands 10a-10e, and their section forms a flat shape in the internal peripheral side while provides a convex shape of predetermined radius of curvature r1 in the peripheral side. Consequently, the V-belt, preventing the metal band from being laterally displace, enables the metal band to be prevented from breaking.
