PURPOSE:To easily form a cut-off wall on the mountain side of dam lake by a method in which a horizontal pile is provided in the mountain side region necessary for water-stopping purpose and excavation is made for forming a continuous wall by an excavator introduced into the horizontal pile. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal pile 7 is provided in the mountain side region of a dam or dam lake, where water-stop work is needed, and an excavator 8 is carried into the pile 7. Pits are excavated until reached by rochwall(a) at a given interval from the surface of the pile 7 by means of the excavator 8, and concrete is placed into the pits to form concrete columns 10. The ground between the columns 10 is excavated to form excavated holes and concrete is placed into the holes to form concrete walls 12.
