A pressure-medium actuated brake system, especially an electro-pneumatic multi-circuit brake system for commercial vehicles, with at least one pressure control valve (17) arranged in an air brake circuit, is described, the valve inlet (41) of which is connected to a pressure medium reservoir (11) and the valve outlet (42) of which to at least one wheel brake cylinder. The pressure control valve (17) also has at least one pressure-medium control inlet (59), to which an emergency brake valve (34), connected to the compressed air reservoir (11), is connected.
