Externally lathe-machined components are automatically checked for length by means of an opto-electronic measurement station, in which the item to be tested is illuminated linearly from below and a picture of two diametrically opposed contour points is produced on two photo-diode lines. The position of the images which can be recognized as jumps in intensity and the electrically-determined distance between both diode lines make it possible to determine the diameter of the shaft. The diode lines can be moved together with the illumination sources in the axial direction of the object being tested, in order to be able to perform a diameter-measurement over the entire axial length of the object. The moving away of the diode lines in an axial direction from a starting position is also determined electrically, so that a length measurement of the object is also possible.
|
