<p>Method for separating solid particles or macromolecules, electrically charged, contained in a solution, by using a semi-permeable membrane specific to the separation to be effected, and by applying an electric field to reduce the concentration gradient to the immediate neighbouring of the membrane. According to the present invention, there is directly arranged a plurality of semi-pervious membranes (2, 3) which are facing each other, so as to alternatingly delimit low pressure compartments and high pressure compartments (4, 5) and the direction of the electric field is periodically inverted. The method of the present invention enables to enlarge the exchange surfaces while beneficiating from an increased permanent efficiency resulting from the application of the electric field.</p> |
