PURPOSE:To detect a piston tilt easily and surely as well as to correct the tilt in an accurate manner, by calculating a direction and angle of the piston tilt from a level difference between each of two points in four points existing almost crosswise on the top of a piston and controlling them. CONSTITUTION:A piston tilting controller 3 is constituted of four liquid tanks 7, 8, 9 and 10, a piston-tilt detecting device 4 detecting the tilt of a piston 2, a piston tilting device 5 operating to correct the tilted piston 2 to horizontality, and a piston-tilt correcting device 6 operating this piston tilting device so as to correct a degree of piston inclination. The piston-tilt detecting device 4 interconnects these liquid tanks 7, 8, 9 and 10 installed in four spots in a peripheral part on an upper surface 2a of the piston 2 by each two with each other, while each of differential pressure generators 11 and 12 is installed in two liquid tanks 9 and 10 being independent to each other.
