PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of disadvantage in reproducing because of the shifting of recording position on the tape during an after-recording by providing two pieces of RAMs to store the true-false information of block number. CONSTITUTION:After executing the after-recording, in case of a newly recorded digital signal shifts backward, a block number detecting circuit 1 detects the block number of the signal precedently recorded and then that of the one newly recorded as to a reproduced digital signal 11. When the block number from a latch circuit 3 is equal to or larger than that from the circuit 1, a first comparator circuit 4 switches a switching circuit 9, and the true-false information of the block number of the newly recorded signal is recorded in a second RAM 7. Now that the true-false information in a RAM 7 is used as an error pointer of block number in executing the error correction of data, the signal precedently recorded in the first RAM 6 can give no influence.
