The metal absorber panel, for use in a solar collector, contains a rectangular passage through which the heat-transfer medium flows. It is joined to a plate, increasing the heat-transfer surface area. A narrow strip of one plate (5) is placed on a rectangular metal plate (3) and joined to it along the edges (12) to form an enclosed space (23). This is connected to a pipe through which a medium under pressure is delivered. The portion of the strip and plate between the edges of the former are thus forced away from each other, producing a passage (24) of circular cross-section.
