PURPOSE:To attain the simultaneous actuation of >=2 application programs APP and to transmit and receive data by providing a terminal access method TAM having an acquisition/release function for unit numbers between the APP and a driver. CONSTITUTION:With a transmission and reception request given from an APP, the unit numbers are first acquired and then the transmission or reception of data is carried out several times. Finally the unit numbers are released. A TAM 9 acquires a unit number to an open request given from the APP. An error is decided with the acquisition of said unit number if another APP is using the relevant unit number. In such a case, the subsequent requests given from the APP are rejected at a driver part 2. While the unit number is released to a close request given from the APP and the subsequent open requests given from the other APP are accepted. Furthermore a control part 3 allocates the informing destinations to QUEL1-n existing at every APP to inform the reception data to be transferred to the APP.
