<p>Plastic sheet consisting of at least one body segment bounded by longitudinal edge segments is continuously extruded using a sheet extrusion die (10) having a lateral distribution manifold (21) positioned immediately upstream of an extrusion slit, both manifold and slit extending across the full width of the die. The manifold is divided into at least three sections (21a,21b,21c) along its length, pref. by means of one or more flow dividing blocks (31) located inside it. These dividers are infinitely adjustable along the length of the manifold and enable the widths of the sheet segments to be precisely controlled, different polymer melts being fed through the manifold sections from different feed inlets (25,26) to form the body and edge segments of the sheet.</p> |
