<p>In cordless telephone equipment comprising a pair of units consisting of a base unit (51) and a handset (1) and in which the traffic between a pair is possible solely on the basis of interchanged individual codes, the function of storing the code data in the two units of a pair is implemented. For this purpose, these data are initially stored by means of a programming device only in the base unit (51). At a later time, by means of a special manipulation of the base unit carried out simultaneously at both the units, these data are transmitted to the handset and also stored there.
