PURPOSE:To enable a stabilized recording at a highspeed without any adverse effect of foreign objects and without clogging, by filling recording ink in a recording medium which has many small holes or concaves, and by selectively heating heating elements when the above small holes or concaves reach to the surfaces of the heating elements. CONSTITUTION:When a film 2 is moved in the direction indicated by the arrow, the small holes 2a... of the film 2 that pass by an ink reservoir which contains the ink 4 are filled with the ink 4. The ink detecting elements 109 and 112 of the thermal head 1, having no insulation film 136, touch directly the ink 4 and detect its presence. Heating elements 3 and conductive materials 108 and 121 are covered with the insulation film 136, and the heating elements 3 are applied with voltage and are rapidly heated to generate bubbles, and by the pressure caused as above, the ink 4 filled in the small holes 2a is rapidly jetted out and recording is carried out. |
