摘要

PURPOSE:To improve utilization of positive electrode active material thus to improve the contacting condition between the positive electrode current collector and the positive electrode by employing double structure of porous carbon molds having different porosity for the positive electrode while making the porosity near the positive electrode current collector in the center of positive electrode lower than that near the surrounding negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:Molded porous carbon positive electrode 4 is arranged through a separator 3 while facing against the negative electrode and a positive electrode current collector 5 made of stainless steel rod is inserted in the central portion. Said electrode 4 is constructed with double structure of the portion 4a near to the positive electrode current collector and the portion 4b near to the negative electrode surrounding said portion 4a where the porosities at said portions 4b, 4a are 90vol% and 70vol% respectively. A positive electrode terminal 8 is provided through glass seal 7 at the innercircumferential side of the cell cover 6 formed by welding a stainless steel pipe 9 provided at the innercircumferential side of glass seal 7 and the upper end portion of the positive electrode current collector 5 inserted into the central portion of the positive electrode 4 or said portion 4a.
