PURPOSE:To enable a quick control of mixture ratio of gas and air through promptly detecting small back fires, by disposing a detecting electrode close to the back of a flame holder to detect the occurence of small back fires. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of bar-shaped electrodes 10 are disposed close to the back of a flame holder 3, being secured to the wall of an air supply tube 2 through insulation material. These electrodes 10 are connected electrically to an air valve 5 and a gas valve 12 through a controller 11. By this arrangement, the occurence of small back fire will cause the electrodes 10 to be charged with electricity, thereby opening of the gas valve 12 and air valve 5 being controlled by the controller 11. Accordingly, the mixture ratio of gas with air can be quickly controlled.
