PURPOSE:To provide a serial printer having simple circuit constitution and a high printing speed, by mounting a first row pin printing data memory part, a second row pin printing data memory part and a means for successively shifting the printing data of memory parts to store the same. CONSTITUTION:The printing pattern stored in a buffer RAM is sent to a pin data output port by the control of CPU and the pin data output port is equipped with four-bit registers 31-36 each constituted of four flip-flops. The register 31 stores 4-bit printing data corresponding to odd number pins in 8-bit printing data sent from the buffer RAM through a data bus 37. The printing data outputted from the register 31 are successively shifted by the registers 32, 33 and stored. The register 34 stores 4-bit printing data corresponding to an even number of pins in 8-bit printing data sent from the buffer RAM and the printing data of the register 34 are successively shifted by the registers 35, 36 and stored. |
