PURPOSE:To prevent the operation range of aperture values from narrowing down and to take photographs with wide-range F values by stopping a diaphragm correcting circuit from operating when an extender is inserted while the control mode of an iris signal is an auto iris mode. CONSTITUTION:The operation of the diaphragm correcting circuit 5 is stopped when the signal of an auto iris/remote iris changeover means 7 supplied to the circuit 5 is an auto iris signal and a signal regarding the insertion of the extender arrives from an extender detection part 6. Namely, no brightness correction is made. Consequently, the operation ranges of aperture values in the auto iris mode is prevented from narrowing down and overexposure is evaded to photograph a subject over a wide brightness range.
