PURPOSE:To make a head mechanically strong with a narrow gap and a highly accurate gap by constituting a front gap of a spatter film and a back gap of an immersed glass. CONSTITUTION:A core 1 is securely fitted to a slider 2 by the spatter film 9, the immersed back gap glass 7 and an adhering glass 3. The softening points of the glasses 3 and 7 are selected by materials lower than the film 9, and a gap forming temperature is set below the refracting temperature of the film 9, and therefore a mutual spreading and immersing layer between the film 9, the core and the slider almost disappears. Accordingly the front gap where the optical gap length equals an effective gap length without a drop in an output can be obtained. The film thickness of the spatter film 9 can be easily controlled to form the gap length at high accuracy.
