PURPOSE:To enable the automation by storing in an NC unit by measuring the slippage in the irradiation axis of an electron beam and the line to be welded and by operating the NC unit with this stored value. CONSTITUTION:The output of an electron gun 2 is reduced to that in the degree of not melting the material 4 to be welded. The dislocation of the irradiation axis of electron beam 2a with the line to be welded is detected by a weld line detecting device 6 from the waveform of the electron beam 2a scanning in the prescribed width on the line to be welded and the waveform of the X ray (4a) quantity emitted from the material 4 to be welded. The correction value of the dislocation according to this detected value is stored in the NC device 7 on each welding point. A table 3 is driven in the prescribed direction by a table driving device 8 when the NC device 7 is actuated by increasing the output of the electron gun 2 to the prescribed value and the weld line of the material 4 to be welded is welded by the irradiating electron beam 2a.
